When it comest to marketing to consumers, you need to understand your audience, so we decided to shed some light into the differences between Gen Z and Millennials. Millennials were born between 1981 and 1996. Gen Z were born between 1997 and 2012. Millennials expect faster customer service. Millennials value experience over possessions while Gen Z demand authenticity when it comes to brands and advertising.

Sustainability is very important to Millennials and they are willing to pay more for great customer experiences. Millennials tend to be more loyal to brands and will not switch to alternative brands simply based on price. Both generations are heavily connected to the internet and social networks, Gen Z prefers shopping on their mobile devices, while Millennials are more traditional. Millennials prefer platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Gen Z prefer platforms that mainly post videos like TikTok, Snapchat and Instagram.  Gen Z prioritize convenience and fast delivery. Millennials appreciate loyalty programs while Gen Z prefers a personalized experience. No matter what generation you are targeting, building trust, understanding your target audience and staying true to your mission as a business will help grow your business.
